Club Sports at KSU are designed "for the students; by the students." Teams compete at home and away against other universities from around the country. Assisted by the staff of the Department of Sports and Recreation, students are challenged to build their leadership, communication, decision making, organizational, problem solving, and team building skills.
IHSA welcomes beginners through advanced riders in the hunter and Western disciplines to compete individually or on a team. Men and women compete with and against each other.
IHSA eliminates the expenses of horse ownership. Horses are furnished by host colleges and are chosen by drawing lots. The use of personal tack is not allowed and schooling is not permitted. The format fairly tests the horsemanship of the athletes. Divisions range from Beginner to the Open Division for the more experienced riders.
Lucy Molinari is a highly respected equestrian trainer based in Canton, Georgia. With over 20 years of experience in the equestrian industry, Lucy is known for her dedication to the sport, her passion for teaching, and her commitment to the welfare of her horses.
Lucy began riding in Perth, Western Australia, at a young age and quickly developed a love for horses. As she grew older and returned to the United States, she began competing in local and rated shows across the Southeast. While attending The Grier School in Tyron, PA, she competed in competitions for her school similar to IEA and became a member of the IHSA while attending Northwestern State University.
Her passion for the sport led her to pursue a career as an equestrian trainer, and she began working with riders and horses of all levels.
Lucy has trained numerous riders to succeed in the hunter and jumper disciplines. Her teaching style focuses on building a solid foundation of horsemanship skills, including proper riding position, effective communication with the horse, and an understanding of horse behavior and psychology.
Lexi seamlessly manages day-to-day operations at the barn and serves as a talented trainer to all our riders. She has been riding with Lucy since 2014 and has helped coach both the IEA as well as the IHSA team. Lexi is committed to developing our riders by providing them with the foundation they need to build upon. With her expertise and unwavering commitment, she keeps our barn running like a well-oiled machine, ensuring that every detail is taken care of with precision and care.
